A professor of Conservation Ecology at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, having formerly served on the Faculty of Education, Mie University.
Born in Tokyo in 1950.
Obtained an M.A. in Agriculture at Tokyo University, where I also completed my Ph.D.
For doctoral research I studied swallowtail life history strategies in relation to host plant dynamics under secondary succession.
A vice-president of the Lepidopterists' Society in USA.
A member of the Board of Trustees of the Worldwide Dragonfly Association
